It’s true what they say- the days often seem long but the months and years seem to fly by!  Once again, that has been the case with February!

We started off the month  by hosting a happy hour with almost 50 of our friends over at the IACC.  We enjoyed wines and antipasti from Italy, got to mix and mingle with some wonderful IACC members,  and we were also about to tie in a visit with our good friend Mauro from Imola Ceramiche in our recently renovated studio location.

All ready for our IACC happy hour!

We paired wines with aged parmesan and olives. What a treat for the senses!

Some of the early crowd with a few words from Mauro…

We also got to be a part of the kick off for 10th Annual Product Runway, which is the IIDA Texas Oklahoma fundraiser benefitting the Houston Furniture Bank, a non-profit organization that provides a more comfortable and livable environment, making empty houses homes for Houston’s needy families.  We have been paired with a local architecture firm and two other material vendors to create a unique and handmade garment out of standard architectural and interior finishes!  It’s always a sight to behold!!

On February 20th, we hosted a reception for some of our top clients to show our appreciation for their continued trust in us.  The food was an interesting combo of homemade pasta with a variety of toppings where each person could create their own ‘Hokey Pokay’ bowl.  The blending of flavors was surprising and quite good!  Tony Poggi of Unicom Starker was also on hand from Italy to lend his expertise on porcelain tile and Parmesan cheese!

Thorntree’s version of Poké– Hokey Pokay!

Tony Poggi speaking to the crowd. He always has a funny joke to share!

In between all of that, we managed to squeeze in 6 CEU presentations between our Houston and Dallas teams!!

In addition to our events, we are happy to announce the launch and preview of several products!

The first being Parade, a beautiful new series by Imola.  It features six colors in three finishes, as well as four different sizes!  It’s a new look in terrazzo porcelain that is one of the first of its kind to have through-body color!  See the full line here —>
