Dallas, Texas

Thorntree was proud to partner with Corgan Associates in Dallas, Texas to host the kick-off party for Metrocon19 this year!

The party was held on August 7th at the new offices of Corgan, in the ‘library/lounge’ area. It is a large and airy light-filled room on the 4th floor of their new building with full views of the Dallas skyline. Many guests braved the heat and summer breeze out on the expansive deck area that also afforded views of the skyline to the east, and the Trinity River to the west.

Compilation videos of Florim Stone production and completed projects played on the large screen televisions, while approximately 200 guests mixed and mingled with friends and colleagues.

Mr. Michele Ballarin, the Director of Florim Stone for North America, was also in attendance to meet many of the designers, architects, and industry professionals to talk to them about the advantages of Florim Stone porcelain slabs.

Light bites and beverages were provided by Sugar City Catering. They displayed the food and charcuterie beautifully on custom trays and table stands made from Florim Stone just for the event. We then held a drawing to give away the custom trays to 6 lucky guests!

To add visual interest, there were custom large scale puzzle pieces made, showing off the newest 12mm Florim Stone colors. There were also custom coasters in the striking colors of the 6mm Etoile de Rex line of Florim that guests could take home!

Although the party ended at 8, the last guests left closer to 9pm, which is always the sign of a great party and a good indication of another successful Metrocon convention!

A sincere thank you to Corgan Associates Dallas for allowing us to use your new facility! Thank you to Sugar City for the beautiful displays of food and wonderful staff. Thank you to Florim Stone and Michele Ballarin for creating such a wonderful product that has added so many options for our industry.

May the remainder of Metrocon19 be a success for all!
