Fun finds and festivities…

It’s hard to believe that the holidays are mere memories and we are already well into 2020!

One of the neat things we have rolled out this year are our new color boxes. As you probably already know, Pantone releases a new ‘it’ color every year. This year’s color is Classic Blue so we decided to create our very first color box based on that color.

From scallops shapes to penny rounds, classic encaustic to industrial chic, hues of blue are available in almost any format to match the look you are trying to achieve!
Of course, no blog post would be complete without a rundown of our recent events…

January was a flurry of CEU’s, site visits, and client breakfast presentations. February started off with a CEU at our Studio location where we covered the basics of Ventilated Facades from our rep and resident engineer from Imola Tecnica. We had a charcuterie spread and drinks for guests to nosh on while getting a jump on this year’s CEU requirements.

The following evening, we hosted a pop-up party, again at our Studio location, for clients in from California and Portugal, and to show appreciation for our hardworking staff. Dinner was comprised of cooked-to-order steaks and fixins by Oneals on Wheels, and there was even a surprise visit from a Mariachi band to get our feet moving. Such a fun night!

Less than a week later, we hosted Second Tuesday at our Studio with two CEU events. First was Adam Cook from SHOP discussing the subject of Eileen Gray: Nonconformist, one of the 20th Century’s most influential designers. Then immediately following was Ms. Anne Breux with Anne Breux Interior Architecture reporting on the latest design trends From Paris, With Love.

And of course, not to outdo ourselves, we then hosted a Champagne and Chocolate tasting for about 50 people that same evening! Annie Rupani of Cacao & Cardamom and Allison Conner of Houston Wine Merchant were there to teach us a little bit about pairing chocolate and champagnes and how the subtle flavors of each compliment and enhance each other. As you can see, the chocolates were almost too pretty to eat! Almost.

To say we have been busy at Thorntree is an understatement. We always have a lot going on and will continue to do so over the course of 2020! If you would like to be invited to our CEU’s and events, please email to be added. We look forward to seeing you and we always look forward to sharing our happenings with you!
